Much of my work is driven by narrative and the preservation of personal history. This piece features my youngest brother, Will, sitting on our sailboat, which has since washed away, near the marsh that bordered our family home. As a pilot and an avid sailor, Will has always been drawn to adventure, to the sky and the sea. This painting becomes a visual archive of our family’s shared past, preserving the quiet, atmospheric magic of a home we have since left behind.

There are moments in life that feel entirely suspended in joy, and this is one of them. Captured in the quiet, fleeting space of a car ride immediately following her wedding to her husband Charlie, this painting features Mercy, my closest friend of over 17 years. Painted in 2020, "Mercy" is a celebration of a lifelong bond. To look back from the front seat and see someone who has walked alongside you for nearly two decades, glowing in the ultimate culmination of her happiness, was an unforgettable honor to witness and an even greater one to preserve on canvas.

There is a distinct, timeless magic to an afternoon spent in Forsyth Park in Savannah, GA, a space that frequently weaves its way into the stories of my painting subjects. This large-scale portrait captures Anne amidst the historic trees and expansive lawns of the park in 2019. Beyond simply capturing a likeness, this painting is a visual record of shared time and quiet observation in a beloved local landscape, standing out in my studio history as a foundational leap forward in my approach to portraiture and the human form.
